Motor Vehicle Records

Driving Records

Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) provide statewide driving records, including Commercial Driver's License status (CDL) for at least 3 years, up to 7 years depending on the state. Motor Vehicle Records show driving history information including insurance lapses, license suspensions, revocations, accidents, and traffic violations. In some states, convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not found on the criminal court record but located on the MVR records.

DOT Pre-employment Crash and Inspection Search

Department of Transportation records from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Management Information system which contains the most recent 5 years of crash data and 3 years of roadside inspection data. This driver data is available to potential employers and operator-applicants to improve the quality of safety data and help employers make more informed decisions when hiring commercial drivers.
